Well if you are between 8 and 12 years old you could take part in the club’s Swim Camp.

The camp is taking place at the beautiful Stonyhurst College, Clitheroe, from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th March ‘08.( Middle weekend of Easter holidays) With five swimming sessions over the 3 days, you’re bound to improve your strokes and water skills.

The accommodation is in rooms of 3 or 4 and of course all meals and drinks will be provided. When you’re not swimming, you'll be able to check out the excellent sports facilities and huge grounds around the college. There are a maximum of 32 places available, so If you’re not already signed up, speak to the head coach for more details.

There will 5 pool sessions throughout the weekend; on Friday evening, Saturday morning and afternoon and on Sunday morning and afternoon. There will also be activities in the sports hall and recreation area throughout the day, as well as personal and relaxation time.

The focus of the pool session will be to improve technique in all four strokes and to develop turning and diving skills - all basic water skills needed to swim fast. Land sessions will involve basic land training activities, team games and various fun activities.

Itinerary: Below is a provisional guide to activities to give you an idea of what we plan to do. More accurate timetable will be available closer to the camp date.

Dates: Swimmers will be dropped off at Stonyhurst on Friday 28th March 2008 at 6.30pm and collected at 4.15pm on Sunday 30th March. Parents are invited to attend from 2.00pm on Sunday to watch the closing presentation and final pool session.

Cost per swimmer: £110.00. This includes all meals and activities and a Swim Camp T-shirt, but not transport to and from Stonyhurst. A non-returnable deposit of £20 is required by Monday 4th February, with the balance to be paid by Monday 3rd March 2008 at the latest. Your child cannot be given a place on the trip unless the full amount has been paid in advance. Cheques should be payable to Oldham ASC.
